Vincenzo Panormo - Bio
Vincenzo Panormo
Vincenzo Panormo (1734-1813) was born in Montreale (near Palermo) Sicily.

He was a renowned violin maker in his own right. Panormo's greatest accomplishment, however, is the perfection of the art of double bass making. One or two of them rank as the finest in the world.

In 1785 in Paris, Panormo created what is considered to be the best bass ever made. Its superb tonal quality will fill any concert hall and the most discerning ear will not detect the slightest speck of weakness. It is this masterpiece that Gentile has replicated in miniature.
